Segway.The name conjures up images of people on a weird pedestal, movingaround quickly while munching away on a hot dog, oblivious to thestares from people around them. Well, it seems Segway has two newPersonal Transporter (PT) systems called the i2 and x2. It'sinteresting what the FCC documents reveal these days. No, really.The Segway  i2 is optimized mostly for indoor use,and outdoor use in a wide variety of environments, while the PT x2 isspecifically meant for outdoor use. Which is why the x2 also has largerand wider tires, knobby treads and a wider stance. Clearly, the x2 isnot meant for sidewalk use.Both the models claim a maximum speed of 12.5 mph (20kmph), running on Li-ion batteries.
